The hotel Telégrafo first opened its doors
on Amistad (friendship) Street in 1860, moving
to its current premises, on the lively corner
of Prado and Neptuno Streets in 1888.

The famous merchant couple Don
Guillermos del Toro and Dona Pilar acquired the
real estate. They renovated the hotel in 1895
and set new standards for the hotel industry in
Latin America. Even today, the Telégrafo
hotel is one of the top 11 hotels of whole Latin
America with an excellent reputation. Apart from
the restaurant which caters for the international
