Havana

Havana with its 3 million population is Cuba's cultural, political and administrative center. It was pillaged by pirates and occupied by the English, but it was the Spanish colonization that influenced Havana's culture and architecture the most. Exploring this colonial heritage will be one of the highlights of your Cuban adventure. Havana's historical center, the Old City of Havana, with its beautiful squares and buildings, is protected by UNESCO as a world's cultural heritage site. It is definitely worth a visit. The city offers many entertainment options: museums, theaters, cinemas, ballet, cabaret, bars, restaurants, discos and live music. Plaza de la Catédral, the most beautiful square in Havana, is located in the
center of the city. With its market stalls and art galleries the atmosphere on the plaza is always lively and energetic. The mortal remains of Christopher Columbus were kept in the cathedral from 1796 to 1898 until they were transported to Seville after the end of colonization. Havana inspired and fascinated many poets and writers. Ernest Hemingway lived there for over 20 years, and Graham Greene dedicated his spy thriller "Our man in Havana" to the city.

Havana by Night

The capital offers a wide range of entertainment options. The great live music concerts take place in Casa de la Musica and in Turquino, at the hotel Habana Libre. Start your night at the famous bar Bodequita del Medio in the Old City, where you can sip a Mojito while listening to passionate guitar sounds. The famed restaurant La Floridita, where Hemingway used to come for his Daiquiris, is also only a few minutes away. Don't miss the exotic open-air show performed by the most beautiful dancers of the Caribbean and come to see this eclectic mix of dance, drama and music in the famous Cabaret Tropicana. Be dazzled by the extravaganza of dance, sound and color staged live in front of you.
