National Park La Güira
Located in the Sierra de los Órganos this park stretches over 21,850 hectares and offers picturesque valleys and mysterious caves. The former country seat of Don Manuel Cortina who was one of the first people after the revolution to be dispossessed and forced to leave Cuba, is now a big park with the ruins of a medieval residential building and an English garden.
Las Terrazas
The community of Las Terrazas in eastern Pinar del Río belongs to the Nature Park Sierra del Rosario, Cuba's first UNESCO-sanctioned biosphere reserve. Here you can find the ruins of about 20 French coffee estates dating back to the 19 th century, sulphurous springs, an artists' colony with small art galleries and diverse leisure facilities. Enjoy the pristine nature of Las Terrazas and relax at on of the picturesque lakes and waterfalls.
Ciénaga de Zapata
This is an extensive part of Cuban landscape, similar to the Everglades, wild and mostly unexplored. The spacious Mangrove streches itself all the way up to the famous Bay of Pigs. Inside the Parque Nacional Ciénaga de Zapata, you can discover for yourself over 900 kinds of flowers, 170 species of birds, 30 species of reptiles and 12 different kinds of mammals.
