Day 1: Arrival in Havana
Arrival at the Havana international airport. Transfer, accommodation and dinner at hotel Telégrafo or
similar in Old Havana.

Day 2: National Park La Güira
After breakfast at the hotel, we visit “La Guira National Park” located in the Sierra De Los Organos. This
National Park stretches over 21,850 hectares and offers picturesque valleys and hidden caves. The
former country estate of Don Manuel Cortina, one the first people who were forced to leave Cuba during
the Revolution, the park today includes ruins of a medieval residential building and an English garden.
We will begin our observation from here and hopefully see the Olive Capped Warbler , the Cuban
Solitaire and discover a Cuban Trogon – country’s national symbol. Around noon, we check‐in the hotel
San Diego De Los Banos located some 5km away from the Guira park. Lunch will be served at the hotel
and in the afternoon we shall return to the park again to enjoy this magnificent environment and birds’
little paradise.

Day 3: Soroa
After breakfast, we continue our Bird Watching tour and go to the hotel Mirador San Diego for lunch. In
the afternoon we travel to Soroa. Our delicious dinner will be served in the hotel Villa Soroa where we
will spend an overnight.

Day 4: Soroa ‐ Las Terrazas ‐ Soroa
After breakfast we travel to the community Las Terrazas, where we can observe a variety of birds’
species in this area belonging to the Sierra Rosario. In Las Terrazas we stop for lunch and before we
return to Soroa, you will have a chance to do some more of the bird watching. Our dinner will be served
in the hotel Villa Soroa.

Day 5: Soroa ‐ Zapata
After breakfast, our journey continues to the Peninsula Zapata, originally named after its owner to
whom the island was promised by the Spanish Crown in 1636. The peninsula is only sparsely populated
and consists mainly of mangrove swamps. However, the Parque National De Cienaga De Zapata is one of
the most extensive and nicest wild resorts in the Caribbean. Here you will find about 150 different birds’
species including a Cuban Green Parrot, Cuban Parakeet, Cuban Pygmy Owl, Zapata Crake, Bee
Hummingbird, Spotted Rail, Yellow‐breasted Crake, Stygian Owl, Blue‐headed Quail Dove, Key West
Quail Dove, Grey‐headed Quail Dove, Great Antillean Nightjar, Red‐shouldered Blackbird, Fernandina’s
Flicker, Gundlach’s Hawk, Cuban Crow, Masked Duck and Snail Kite.
We will have lunch in the restaurant and our accommodation is booked at the hotel Villa Guama where
we will be served dinner.

Day 6, 7, 8: Zapata
On these couple of days we have 2 spectacular excursions to look forward to, one of which is a Day Trip.
Visiting the areas such as Arroyone, Las Salinas, Las Bermejas and Santo Thomas, we can identify an
extraordinary variety of birds including: Cuban Parrot , Cuban Parakeet, Barelegged Owl, Clapper Rail,
Spotted Rail, Blue‐headed
Quail Dove, Antillean Nightjar, and many more. We will stay on a Full Board basis in the hotel Villa
Guama.

Day 9, 10: Zapata ‐ Havana
After breakfast we can admire birds in the birds’ natural paradise in the Parque National De Cienaga De
Zapata for the last time as after lunch transfer will take us back to Havana. In Havana we will stay for
dinner and an overnight at the hotel Telégrafo in Old Havana.

Day 10: Departure
Transfer will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the airport Havana in time for your departure
flight (normally 3 hours prior to your flight time).
